1) Thou shalt commit to the process. Embrace patience, appreciate the journey, and aim to be better than you were yesterday. When you have a hard day, accept that days like this will happen, and keep moving forward.
2) You shall prioritize sleep. This will look different depending on the season of life you are in. Regardless, you need to develop better sleep hygiene and habits to aid in recovery and growth.
3) Thou shalt manage your stress. Develop a practice to downregulate your system, clear your mind, and find some peace.
4) You shall leave your excuses behind. Everyone is busy. Everyone is stressed. No one has enough time. You can choose to prioritize your health now or be forced to prioritize illness later.
5) Thou shalt explore nutritional habits that can work for you. Make protein a priority. Drink lots of water. Eat fruits and vegetables. Be mindful of caloric intake. Eat things you can be consistent with.
6) You shall practice gratitude for the strengths and abilities your body has. Lots of people would give anything to trade places with you. You have the gift of movement. Maximize it.
7) Thou shalt never do nothing. Even on your worst days. Drink a glass of water. Do some meditation. Stretch. Take a movement break. Or simply practice gratitude. Do at least one thing for yourself.
8) You shall master the basics. The boring exercises are usually the ones you need to be doing. Don’t overcomplicate it. Train your whole body and mind. Stay consistent. Don’t give up.
9) Thou shalt not train through pain. Pain is not weakness leaving the body. It is a request for change. It is complex. It can be tied just as much to stress, emotions, and your mind, as it can be correlated to physical origins. Pain does not necessarily mean injury, however, we do need to acknowledge it.
10) You shall leave your ego behind. It doesn’t matter who you were yesterday. That was then. This is now. Be present and in the moment. Build a better and stronger you. Embrace what’s to come. Don’t be afraid to look silly or tired. This is all about learning, growing, collaborating, and improving.
